Über den Hotspot der Bahn eine ganze Folge heute Show gestreamt. Hatte nicht gedacht, dass das mal möglich ist. Es gibt Hoffnung fürs Netz.

I can’t agree that mantra: „Digital humanities is old wine in new bottles.”

via Tweetbot for iOS

@mia_out that’s also my questions. What about funding, money, acceptance und support of young digital humanists?

@GGersmann an diesem Punkt der Diskussion fällt es mir auch schwer zu folgen…

cbpuschmann There is a strong undercurrent of techno-skepticism and conservatism in the German humanities and DH brings it to the surface.

@matthias_mader @MschFr und wir sind ja beileibe nicht alleine unter dem Hashtag. :)

I have a dream of a world, where PhD students don’t need to be afraid to share their knowledge under free licenses! ;) /@mia_out

@mia_out liked your talk. Is there a reason you are using restrictive CC licenses for the blog? Usually for science CC-BY is recommended.

“OpenSource Software as 3rd communist hypotheses”. Lightning Talk of @katepe pic.twitter.com/d0kZ1CT83D

During the lightning talks it gets clear, that many (small) languages are about to die. Digital solutions could help so much!

via Tweetbot for iOS

@katepe Partly, but I also think no library would be scanned today, if not Google had simply done it. They pushed without asking if it’s ok.

@ffmetzger True, i’m seeing it clearer now. :)

@rebelate_ I need Duolingo to learn and translate Spanish. ;)

@katepe I’m mixed up. I’m happy that Google is pushing us to this development, I’m sad, that govs, libs and public didn’t do it earlier.

@coulterk True, still not perfect. Interactive Network? :) is there a better word?

@ChaosPhoenx @MschFr I’m happy you are a very responsive audience. ;) Is there a better word to express send-receive identity?

via Tweetbot for iOS in reply to ChaosPhoenx

@ChaosPhoenx Publikum seems to me creating a gap between sender and receiver.

via Tweetbot for iOS in reply to ChaosPhoenx

I like the word „audience” much more than the German word „Zielgruppe”. To listen and not to aim!

@Ajprescott So happy that now I can explain to my professor why I’m doing research on Homer Simpson. ;)

via Tweetbot for iOS in reply to Ajprescott

Ajprescott The Humanities is (and should be) as much concerned with Homer Simpson as Homer. Both are culture. .

@j_w_baker @MschFr Could be so useful for everyone, if the public and governments would have paid that money for reCaptcha.

via Tweetbot for iOS in reply to j_w_baker

@j_w_baker I see, that academia is behind in DH compared to private IT sector, NOT everything has been already there before.

via Tweetbot for iOS in reply to j_w_baker

Why tools like ReCaptcha can’t be founded and build by universities and be used for the public interest instead Google doing it?

via Tweetbot for iOS

Was @LuisvonAhn präsentiert ist sehr inspirierend: ReCaptcha und noch viel besser: Duolingo.
